Its presence has persisted for years, centuries, even millennia according to some experts; it not only pollutes but also kills animals and plants, dirties and saturates any habitat, it has become an uncomfortable companion but one on which we also depend. It began to be manufactured in the thirties of the last century and from the fifties onwards it was mass-produced. We are referring to plastic and its derivatives, the recycling and handling of PET (Polyethylenterephthalat), like other waste, has become a real challenge for countries and their recycling companies.
